A Chronic Voice is a year old! So far so good, but we know that there is always room for improvement. (If you haven’t already participated in our 2017 polls, you can do so here. Your insight will be valuable!) Moving forward, here’s what you can expect from us in the coming year and beyond.
1. Going Beyond Digital
I love my digital gadgets, and admit that I’m addicted to the internet. But I’d like to go beyond digital, and delve into physical space this year. This includes both tangible products, and human interaction. We have a few ideas but nothing concrete yet. We’ll let you know when they materialise!
2. A Wider Array of Topics
Look forward to a wider array of topics in various formats! I do enjoy what I do now, but would like to mix things up a bit to make it more interesting. We will include book reviews, poetry, guest posts and other fun stuff. Definitely more stories too, as that is what you wanted most based on the polls 🙂 If you have something you’d love to see, don’t hesitate to let us know!
3. Expanding Our Social Media Reach
I want to dabble more with Pinterest and Medium this year, as I believe there is an audience there that I’m not reaching. I am also going to attempt publication on another platform with a wide outreach. (Here’s us on the Huffington Post and Thought Catalog.) So far, Upworthy has rejected all of my submissions, but I’ll just keep trying 😉
4. Integrating Other Aspects of Life
I hope to start a new venture soon, and am excited to tie it in with humane healthcare as well. I feel very fortunate to have such a supportive network in life, and have learned to relax a little and accept their help. Their unwavering support provides me with opportunities to explore a more sustainable career, so that is what I must do.
I would also like to start travelling more again, as it is one of the two things that keeps me passionate about life. It’s a wide world, and being out there reminds me of the endless possibilities we actually have. I tend to compartmentalise my life, which limits my lateral point of view. My current travel blog has no mention of my chronic illnesses at all. So I plan on weaving more stories on the journey of life together this year. After all, “nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else”.
Looking forward to spending more time with you in 2017!
