Saturday, 21 April 2018. Issue #106.
In this issue: There is no need to apologise for an illness you didn’t ask for. Taking meds to tamp down pain levels, barely enough to get everyday duties done. Learning that a slower pace of life is healthier in the long run. The grey area of passive suicide. Highlight the positive aspects of your life by distracting yourself with activities you enjoy. Being ill doesn’t discount you from the right to be in a happy relationship, or the ability to contribute in different ways. Learning how to let go, accept and flow can often be harder than pushing through. When the doctor takes your mother aside in private, to tell her that her daughter may die tonight. Stress becomes a negative thing if we’re unable to rest after that quick burst of responsive energy. Untreated depression can affect the brain in similar ways as neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s.
