In this issue: “You carry a large burden. You are not the burden.” Being aware that our normal looks a little different, and to give ourselves grace when setting goals. Having a diagnosis doesn’t always mean that people will believe you, including your family. Thinking I’d be all healthy by September, but life with chronic illness doesn’t work like that! My cockatiel who sneaks into my room to snooze with me, which reminds me to be content as well. People in pain don’t take opioids to get high, but to try and live as normal a life as possible. Using the 80% rule, where you expend only 80% of the energy you have. Thoughts scribbled down as reminders for those dark, depressive days. An assortment of migraines, one of it being the one where you’re far away from home in agony. What life is like when you have $0 in the bank account, with chronic illnesses and mouths to feed.
