Friday, 27 September 2019. Issue #180.
In this issue: Chronic pain always comes with depression, anxiety and yet more pain. The need to stay within your energy envelope with chronic illness which changes all the time. The anger at society’s labels on ‘good’ vs ‘bad’ disabled people, based on how ‘inspirational’ they are. The sensitivities of ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), where even a touch or scent can make you ill. Cancelling the day to rest as a long-term strategy for coping with chronic pain. Whilst the physical damage of steroids can be devastating, the psychologist effects can be the worst. Fibromyalgia – where no one but you can feel its strength and power. Just because someone looks like they’re functioning well, doesn’t mean that they are. Never ignore your chronic pain (then again, it’s impossible to ignore). The lack of contact in modern society is one reason why it’s so sick these days.
