In this issue: Becoming intimate with the elements of life, as a result of chronic illness. There is always a glimmer of hope, as long as you’re alive. Recognising the therapeutic role of art this World Art Day. A timeless linkup that showcases the everyday lives of those with chronic illness. It can be extra difficult to curb anxiety and worry, when you have an overactive sympathetic nervous system. Don’t judge someone else’s pain as we’ve all suffered some form of loss; just be there for one another. Breathing is the number one coping tool for stress management. Things not to say to those with chronic illness such as ‘you’re probably just stressed’, as it plays the blame game. Wash your hands regularly even if you’re young or healthy, as you never know if others around you are vulnerable. The guilt of needing to use a wheelchair when your elderly neighbours are all out and about.
