In this issue: Depression can make you not care about anything anymore, and is indescribable unless you’ve been through it yourself. The inability to do things that bring you joy or achievement, and feeling like you’re wasting your days and are unable to contribute, when you’re stuck at home with chronic pain. Whilst I know that I don’t handle stress well, I didn’t know just how bad it was until I did this questionnaire… Medications that are meant to help your mental health can sometimes do the opposite, and you can’t escape your mind even in your sleep. You may start to see patterns by visually exploring chronic pain through art. When you have bills to pay and a baby to feed, yet pushing yourself too hard with chronic illness does come with additional costs. Sometimes doctors can be dismissive when they lack knowledge in a certain field of medicine, and unfortunately, the patient is misdiagnosed or labelled wrongly as a result. To raise awareness and to be an advocate, you first need to slowly learn how to accept your body and be comfortable in your own skin. When you have chronic pain, the nerves that send signals to the brain about an injury don’t stop firing. When you worry about inconveniencing others or what other people think, instead of using mobility aids for your own health need.
