Friday, 23 October 2020. Issue #236.
In this issue: When you battle chronic pain, the emotional pain and rejection can feel much worse. The realisation of how tough medical appointments are when you need to keep going for them. The full blown effects of a panic attack, where you collapse on the floor and just heave and wail. There is a difference between being true to yourself and being intractable (video). When people dismiss COVID-19 as nothing serious, they are also dismissing the lives of those with chronic illnesses. Gratitude for having a good support network, when you’re at your worst all times, and inabilities pile up over the years. The first step taken in years without pain, thanks to Keego, an AI support robot. Never did she think that she’d end up needing a cane to walk at age 34, or that she’d be in constant pain every day. How one ostomate inspires another, as they go about life positively despite an ostomy bag. The need to be all in this together, if we are to beat COVID-19.
