Issue 260: Feeling Less Alone Through Online Chronic Illness Communities & There is No Point Pushing Through Pain When Someone Might be Able to Help

In This Issue:

  1. Exploring the definitions and causations of pain in order to manage it using neuroplasticity.
  2. Switching over to Cloudways hosting for my blog, after doing lots of research at work!
  3. Ginger in all forms is great for migraine pain management and nausea relief.
  4. That strange thought when you realise that you are in pain all the time with headaches.
  5. Learning that mental health matters a lot, especially when you come from an Asian society where the stigma is high and pegged to pathetic losers.
  6. There is no point pushing through pain when someone else might be able to lend a helping hand, and one that might only take them a few seconds.
  7. Not caring about what others think about your coping and pain management strategies, and you’re the one who has to live with and through it.
  8. We experience grief far more than we realise, especially during this COVID19 crisis, and not only with loss from death.
  9. It is not an understatement to say that being part of online chronic illness communities has brought with it friendship and camaraderie, making one feel less alone.
  10. Being your own biggest advocate in the best thing you can do for your chronic illness, whether that means speaking up when you need to, and having a say in your own treatment plan.
