Sorry it’s a little late, but I’ve managed to put the November writing prompts together. (I’ve added a few extra days to compensate!) Here we are, near the end of the year. 2022 was an awful one for me to say the least.
I suffered a spontaneous bilateral patellar tendon rupture that left me bed bound for months, and am still recovering from it. I certainly hope yours wasn’t as dramatic, health-wise at least. Regardless, there are still two months left to make some magic out of it, perhaps!
So have a peek at the writing prompts for November. I truly hope to read about how you’re doing, and also what you’ll be up to this holiday season. It’s always a pleasure to read and share all your posts about chronic illness and disability. I’m sure it helps others in the community to feel a little less alone, too.
What the 2022 November Writing Prompts are About & How to Participate
The linkups are a monthly get together for anyone with a chronic illness, mental disorder or disability. An opportunity to share, to listen, and to learn from one another through shared writing prompts. I also think it’s a great way to provide insight into life with chronic pain, from many different points of view.
All you have to do is write using at least three of the writing prompts listed below, and publish it on your blog, or to a free writing platform like Medium. Then click on the blue ‘Add Link’ button to add your blog post to this page. Voilà, you’re now part of the linkup party!

- Finishing
Well, the year is drawing to an end so I guess lots of us are finishing – or trying to finish up – some stuff on our list(s)! Apart from pesky tasks and work, you could also be finishing up on something nice – an art piece, TV series, book, personal project, etc. Or perhaps something a little more practical such as painting your house, revamping your space, or sorting through piles of papers and medications. - Fatiguing
Well, it’s been a long and fatiguing year for me. What about you? My brain fog / cognitive issues are also always annoying, both as a cause and effect of chronic pain. You could be finding ways to improve your fatigue levels, to try and perk up to a functional level. Or you could be too fatigued to even leave your bed, and you might like to share how that impacts your quality of life. Or perhaps you find certain people or routines fatiguing; we know we all have a few of those. - Easing
We’re easing into the holiday season now; There’s still time to sort things out and perhaps pace a little, instead of getting everything done the last minute! Perhaps chronic illness, pain and fatigue are hindering you, and you’re looking for ways to ease your pain, such as delegating tasks, or finding a new specialist. You might be trying to ease a loved one or yourself into seeing a new perspective, or accepting a new role or circumstance, as well. - Comforting
The season of comfort and joy is approaching! I do personally get the warm, fuzzy vibes around this time of year, I guess because of fond childhood memories. You could be comforting a friend or family member who’s been dealing with grief, loss, depression, or any other form of pain. You could share with us holistic ways that you use to comfort yourself when you’re feeling down. Or maybe even share your favourite comfort foods (I promise I won’t judge!). I’d be curious to know what you personally do for self-care as opposed to self-soothing, too! - Wishing
Well, I know I’m personally saying good riddance to 2022. But here’s wishing us all a good end to it, at least. Like I said, there are still two months left to find or make some good out of it; To take something nice away from it, even if it’s just a small thing. You could also share your Christmas wish list or general bucketlist, your dreams, biggest wish for mankind, and more! A wish is a wish after all, so who knows, right? 😉
