VITAMINS & SUPPLEMENTS

The following supplements listed are either recommended to me by my own nutritional therapist or doctor after a blood, urine or some other test. Or they are generic ones for everyday health. Please consult your own healthcare practitioner before starting on any new supplements, as our body requirements may be totally different.

Nature’s Way: Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids

Bioflavonoids enhance the efficacy of Vitamin C.

Nature’s Plus: Chewable Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids

For those who prefer to chew instead of swallow!

Olympian Labs Inc.: Prebiotic & Probiotic

Everyone’s gut health is different, and I’m tweaking mine based on my gut health report from Thryve Inside as a little experiment! So far this one works for me every other day.

Jarrow Formulas, Jarro-Dophilus EPS, 5 Billion

Another probiotic that I recently started on. Thought I’d alternate this with Olympian Lab for a better mix. This one is available in two strengths; I’m starting low because the 50 billion female probiotics (as seen below) was a little too overpowering for my gut for now.

Non-GMO Probiotics for Women

Probiotics for Women: No Fillers or Binders

No fillers or binders for those with sensitivities.

Solgar: Melatonin Tablets

I was picking a brand of melatonin for my partner as requested, and this one seemed like a good one. Non-GMO, gluten, wheat & dairy free. His feedback was that it’s really effective, too.

Thorne Research: Mineral Supplements

Nature’s Way: Men’s Multi-Vitamin

For my dad 😉

Garlic Supplements

Garlic can help to support cardiovascular health and improve cholesterol levels.

  • Thanks for sharing what works for you. I love that your reviews are found with each product on the iHerb.com website. The option to buy a sample is really helpful. I have several nearly full containers of things that didn’t sit well with me.

  • Some of my favourite brands here like Avalon, Solgar and ecover and many more that look great for me to try out!

    • Yes their shipping is efficient, prices are great (at least for me!), and the rewards are awesome! Worth trying them out if you like 🙂

  • I’ve never heard of iHerb before now. It appears they have some pretty amazing products. I plan to take a closer look soon.

    • Thanks Cynthia! If you click through my links both you and I get some pretty good rewards built up over time! xxx

  • Giovanni Leave-In Weightless Moisture Conditioner – I love this. I have curly hair and avoid hair products with chemicals as I can really feel the damage they do – plus my hair is dry any way. So this Giovanni leave-in is without silicone and makes my hair feeling really nice.

Loved the rest of your list too – including the African Black soap bar too 🙂

Also thank you for updating this list – I keep coming back to it.

    • Thanks Shruti! I REALLY love iHerb rewards. I accumulate about $100 each time and manage to top up these useful products ‘for free’ each time, and the person who purchased through my links gets rewards, too 🙂 My staple is the Alba Botanica liquid soap 🙂

  • I use some of these. Giovanni: Direct Leave-In Weightless Moisture Conditioner is Awesome. I can’t have the SLS stuff… totally allergic to it. And that is one of the brands I use. That leave-in conditioner is light and perfect for my frizzy poofy hair. lol

    • Yes it’s incredible how sensitive chronic illness and/or the medications make us become. I am sensitive these chemicals, too. Haha frizzy poofy hair…I wish I had some of that 😀 Mine is limp, feeble and sparse lol. Grass is greener I know…

  • Amazing store, they have interesting products. They have multivitamins for men’s too 🙂

  • I’ve never heard of herb, so I’m glad to know about it now. I use a lot of the products and love them.

    • Hi Cindy, iHerb is great – been using them for years! They’re really efficient, their reward system is customer-focussed, and the products are plentiful and good!

  • what a selection! I can almost smell the lavender soap, will definitely have a look.

  • I love Giovanni hair care products. Unfortunately they aren’t available in india any more.

    • Oh no, why did they pull it off the market? I’ve gone off Giovanni to be honest, but that’s just me. I love trying new stuff out and switching products around 🙂

  • I’ve never had chia seeds but I see them mentioned more and more these days. Great round-up Sheryl, lots of healthy, organic goodies to enjoy here!

    • Hi Caz,

Haha I don’t eat them that much, really. It’s my birds who adore them! 🙂 And thank you, all you have to do is click on them and you will get a discount too. Happy browsing (and eating!) 😉

  • Great choices! I love pretzels; they’re my favorite salty snack when my blood pressure is low. And chia seeds are a perfect topping on my yogurt in the morning.

    • Thanks Kirsten! My birds love the chia (anything small and crunchy that they can pick, really ;)). And pretzels are delicious! 🙂
