February 2019 Linkup Party for People with Chronic Illnesses

February 2019 Linkup Party for People with Chronic Illnesses | A Chronic Voice

Already the second month of 2019, how scary is that, and it’s a short one to boot! I hope that the new year has been kind to you so far, and that you’ll join us in sharing about your chronic illness life through February’s writing prompts!

What It’s All About

It is a monthly get together for anyone with chronic illnesses. An opportunity to share, to listen, and to learn from one another. I also think it’s a great way to provide insight into life with chronic pain, from many different points of view. All you have to do is write a short excerpt for at least three of listed prompts, and publish it on your blog. Then click on the blue ‘Add Your Link’ button below to add your blog entry here. Voilà, you’re now part of the party!

A Few Simple Rules:

  1. Only 1 link per website.
  2. Do comment on at least 2 other blog posts in this linkup if you participate. Helping to spread the word on your social media is always appreciated, but not required.
  3. This linkup starts on the 1st of every month. There will be 5 different prompts. It will close at the end of each month before midnight. All timings listed are in Singapore time (+8 GMT).
  4. Pick at least 3 of the prompts to write about. 5 is best, of course! 😉
  5. We also ask that you share this main link to at least one of your social media outlets within the same month.
  6. Failure to follow these rules might get you blacklisted from future linkups. Let’s keep it fair for all 🙂

Prompts for the Month

  1. Adjusting
  2. You could be making some major life changes due to health reasons, or even from ‘normal’ life problems. Life is change, which means the need to adjust and adapt all the time. You could even be adjusting simple everyday things within your home to improve your quality of life. Other things you could shift and adjust are your thoughts, perspectives, routines, and so much more!

  3. Hoping
  4. Hope is a crucial element in life, without which we’d all be walking zombies. Hope can be difficult when all you wake up to and go to bed in is pain. Is there something you aspire to, or wish for, be it for your health, family, friends, or yourself? You could even share something awesome on your wishlist you hope to receive 😉

  5. Surviving
  6. Survival is a human instinct. How do you survive chronic pain, constant depression or sudden anxiety? Perhaps you are weathering a tough period in life be it school, relationship, family, career, or some other life issue. Whatever it is you’re surviving, come share your experiences. We can weather it together 🙂

  7. Befriending
  8. I suppose the first thought that pops into your head is peopling, but befriending goes beyond that. You could be befriending a new and wary pet, but the most important person to befriend is yourself. Be your own best friend, if you want to be your best self in every which way possible. Of course befriending can also be related to regular human communication. You could befriend that quiet colleague or grumpy cashier you see all the time. You might be surprised by how much their life stories reflect your own.

  9. Awakening
  10. Apart from the morning routines you wake to every day, you can also warm up to new perspectives, or awaken certain passions within your soul. Just try not to disturb and wake any beasts up, unless you’re doing it in order to face and defeat them 😉
